Tim Hetherington Film Club

Arrupe Hall, Farm Street Church, 114 Mount Street, W1K 3AH

Following our showing of the award-winning film, Spotlight, we are now showing CODA, another highly regarded film made in 2021 and also based on real life.

As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family of four. When the family’s fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion for studying at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents and the business that needs her to survive.

In 2022, the film won three Oscars (Best Film, Supporting Actor, and Adapted Screenplay) and three BAFTAS (Lead Actress, Supporting Actor and Adapted Screenplay).

The film will start at 7pm. Cost is free - with drinks and refreshments (donations welcome).
